| Trees
help develop communities by drawing people from their homes, providing shade,
peace of mind, and the tranquility of nature. Mature trees improve our aesthetic
environment, absorb noise, are traffic calming, reduce stress and crime,
and create a peaceful place to relax or socialize. Trees are integral to
the quality of life and may alleviate costly social ills. These are all
findings from a number of studies conducted by a University of Illinois College of Agricultural, Consumer
and Environments Sciences (ACES) team. |
