Greening Milwaukee sponsors the Mayor’s Landscape Awards each year to recognize and encourage greening activities in the city. In the Garden Party event each March, several hundred people attend the awards for outstanding landscaping and greenery and to kick off the growing season.

The awards are given to Milwaukee homeowners and other residents - whether private citizens, businesses, organizations, or churches. Anyone can nominate their own garden or a neighbor’s, and two winners are chosen from each aldermanic district. Special recognition awards are also given.

Awards are based on the aesthetic impact the property has on the surrounding neighborhood and community.
